Our Homes

It is our aim to create an atmosphere within which the young person can feel safe to express themselves, find adults they feel able to approach and those that will accept them unreservedly as individuals in their own right.

As part of a wider strategy, active attempts are made to rescue the better aspects of the individual behaviour, to restart the natural process of growth and development, and equip them with the necessities to go on to be productive members of society.

An overview of our homes

Ivydene is a large detached property set in an acre of mature private grounds which is set back away from the road. The property is situated in the suburbs of a small town (Marple) on the outskirts of Stockport, bordering Derbyshire and the Peak District.

Own main goal and philosopy at Ivydene Children's Home is to offer a structured, caring and nurturing environment in which all of the chiildren's/young people's needs are met.  This provides them an opportunity to meet their full potential in all aspects of their life.

We specialise in placements for young people who have a range of emotional behavioural difficulties, including mild learning difficulties, substance misuse, neglect, criminal behaviour, and sexualised behaviour.

We offer education within the home by fully qualified teachers.

We also offer semi independent living within the home.

Annexe Building

Our annexe building is set within the same grounds as Ivydene but is independent from the main home, offering placements for young people who thrive and develop in a small home environment or require intense support levels.

This is a 2 bedded building and is included in the 6 bedded registration status of Ivydene Children's Home.

Ferndene is a small therapeutic home in a residential area capable of housing up to two young people aged from 10 to 17 years of age.  Ferndene specialises in high staff ratios and is registered to house young people with EBD and learning disabilities such as Autism.
